UKplc in need of economic TLC

If the UK economy were a business it would be on the ropes, with the banking sector pinpointed as the main cause of financial distress, say analysts.
Commentators have been suggesting that the public sector needs to exercise more private sector-style discipline over its finances in order to improve its credit position, but if the UK economy were a private business, it would have a hard time securing finance if the latest macroeconomic assessments are accurate.
