HMRC to save 15% through IT overhaul

The chancellor’s Spending Review called on HMRC to create overall resource savings of 15% through better use of new technology and making savings on its IT contracts.
In a statement released today, George Osborne said the department would invest in new technology to “improve risk assessment capability, better join up taxpayer information and streamline internal processes”.
