One of the arguments regularly put forward by the Cloud Computing pure-play applications vendors, such as Salesforce.com and NetSuite, is that is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to move from an on premise business and technology model to an on demand one. The argument is that the likes of SAP and Microsoft will struggle because of their legacy base and architectures.
