Tax reform needed to avoid ‘speed limit’ on SME growth potential

Small business taxation requires urgent review if the UK manufacturing sector is to help rebuild the economy, according to a new report.
Manufacturing in the UK is growing at its fastest rate since 1994, with 69% of companies planning to increase capital expenditure, but the government needs to provide clarity on which tax reforms it will seek over the next five years and deliver on its commitment to reduce red tape if growth is to continue, said the Shape of British Industry report.
