Nick Beighton, who joined the nightclub operator last year from Matalan, will substantially reduce staff levels by consolidating finance into one office and removing duplicated processes.
Luminars finance department currently numbers about 100 people.
When Beighton joined, finance was split between offices in Preston and Milton Keynes.
The Preston-based team will complete the move to Milton Keynes by the end of this month and Beighton will then evaluate what functions can be squeezed out.
He says: What I am trying to do is reduce the non-value-adding activity and the transaction processing by first of all getting all the staff centralised into Milton Keynes so there is not a three hour journey between us. It then gives us greater opportunity and visibility to remove duplication.
He adds: I anticipate that when I have completed this process at the end of this year there will be about a 20 per cent reduction in staff numbers, and there will be another 15 per cent reduction in the next financial year after that.
Beighton says the move to Milton Keynes will also help promote consistent communication and allow the finance team to be closer to the operational centre of the business.
Luminar is currently going through a restructuring process following stagnating sales figures.
For the six months to September 1 like-for-like sales were in the core business were flat while operating profit was down £1.5m to £24.6m, on turnover down to £154.4m from £158.8m.
