Agresso to provide Harvard Law School with agile student information system
Agresso, the leading provider of agile Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software has announced an agreement to provide Harvard Law School with Agresso Education, a state of the art student information system. The school was seeking a solution that could manage ongoing changes as their requirements evolved in the future, and this unique solution serves the specialized needs of higher education facilities and seamlessly integrates the business and financial functions that dynamic, forward-thinking institutions require.
Harvard Law School will receive a full suite of capabilities; registration and academic records, transcript management, program completion and degree audit, student accounts, curriculum planning, faculty information, clinical and public services job placements, class rosters and anonymous grading. In addition to the functionally-rich modules included in the software, Harvard Law School has engaged Agresso to enhance the software further to serve the special requirements of the School’s community. A unique feature of Agresso Education is its capacity for modification as requirements change, with minimal cost and disruption, even after implementation is complete. Enabling this distinctive ability is Agresso’s underlying VITA architecture.
“Our evaluation of the student information system market uncovered that while there are several good solutions on the market, Harvard Law School requires a level of flexibility and specialized functionality beyond what most platforms support today,” remarks Dan Kaplan, manager of client services*. “What we were looking for was fundamental agility in the platform, and the ability to integrate additional business functions together within a single system.”
“We are delighted that Harvard Law School selected Agresso Education and we are confident that our post-implementation agility will deliver all the immediate and long-term advantages Harvard Law School was seeking,” says Shelley Zapp, president of Agresso North America. “The higher education market has been underserved by modern, innovative software and Agresso brings a sophisticated alternative that integrates higher education functions with best-of-breed business tools. Many institutions are faced with growth, rising student expectations, shifting revenue targets, and a host of other changes. Agresso is focusing on these types of institutions and offering the best solution to serve their current and future needs.”
