EMI CFO takes flight to easyJet
Chris Kennedy, CFO for music publisher EMI, is striking a new chord at budget airline easyJet.
He will join the airline in the summer as its group finance director, following an eight-month recruitment search. "We were very keen to recruit a finance director who had the experience and personal drive to help us deliver our 15% ROI target,” said EasyJet CEO Andy Harrison. “I am sure that Chris will make a big contribution to the business and I look forward to welcoming him to EasyJet.”
EasyJet chairman Mike Rake said Kennedy offers a strong combination of financial, business and leadership capabilities "I look forward to working with Chris and the rest of the management team to continue to develop the business," he said.
The airline has now replaced its top three corporate jobs in the past year. In December, Sir Michael Rake was appointed as the company’s new executive chairman and the airline is currently looking for a new chief executive following Andy Harrison’s recently announced intention to seek new challenges.
Interim CFO Mark Adams, who stepped in following Jeff Carr’s departure to transport company First Group last year, will remain with EasyJet to ensure a smooth transition until Kennedy joins.
