Unpatched hole discovered in Internet Explorer

A "zero-day" vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer is being targeted by malicious drive-by download websites.

The vulnerability affects IE versions going back to 5.01 (service pack 4), Microsoft warned in a recent Security Advisory notice. The latest beta test version of Explorer 8 is also potentially vulnerable, but all of the known attacks have targeted IE 7, the company said.
